The West Florida Baptist Institute is a Bible and Church Training institution established in 1983 under the ownership and direction of First Missionary Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida. The purpose is not to make preachers, but to train people as ministers, missionaries, and Christian workers.
It is not the purpose of the West Florida Bible Institute to teach secular courses. Those courses taught that are not Bible-related are all of a practical nature and are offered to assist the Christian worker in his or her field of labor.
The West Florida Baptist Institute is now owned and under the direction of The Baptist Chapel of Grand Bay, Alabama. The Baptist Chapel appointed three trustees and called for five at-large trustees from churches of the West Florida Missionary Baptist Association. These eight trustees are to make the decisions pertaining to the material assets of the West Florida Baptist Institute. Churches throughout the American Baptist Association and interested parties help to finance the Institute with offerings and gifts. The school and her administrators are always willing to listen to the wise counsel of other churches and their elders.
All legal documents pertaining to W.F.B.I. must be signed by the trustees of West Florida Baptist Institute, Inc., Pensacola, Florida, and approved by The Baptist Chapel.
